Nagpur: Integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in diagnosis and treatment of eye ailments has brought unparallel precision and benefits, said city’s renowned ophthalmologists on Wednesday.
“3D cataract surgeries are being performed with the help of AI while diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy is facilitated with the latest tools.The optical coherence tomography (OCT) provides high-resolution, cross-sectional images of the retina. Advancements in retinal imaging have improved our understanding of disease progression and response to treatment,” said Dr Rafat Khan.
The latest advances in ophthalmology, diagnosis and surgical techniques would be discussed during a two-day brainstorming session ‘Eyespire’ as part of Vidarbha Ophthalmic Conference at AIIMS Nagpur from Saturday.
