Microsoft Copilot Pro vs ChatGPT Plus: Which AI chatbot to choose | Technology News

Microsoft’s Copilot Pro is no longer limited to enterprises; the Redmond company announced on Tuesday that Copilot Pro is now available for individuals. Similar to ChatGPT Plus, the premium version of Copilot offers a faster response time and access to the latest models like GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo.

Microsoft Copilot Pro is priced at Rs 2,000 a month, while ChatGPT Plus is available for Rs 1,950 a month. With a very negligible price difference, these generative AI-powered chatbots are aimed at power users seeking the best AI capabilities. Here is an analysis of these two premium AI chatbots and how they compete against one another.

It is a known fact that Microsoft works closely with OpenAI, and Copilot is powered by the GPT (Generative Pretrained Transformer) model, which also powers ChatGPT. Given the similar core underlying technology, the results and responses from both chatbots are on par with each other. In fact, both Copilot Pro and ChatGPT Plus give access to the latest GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo models.

With a ChatGPT Plus subscription, users have one clear advantage—the GPT Store, which includes over three million custom versions of ChatGPT tailored for specific use cases. Microsoft has confirmed that Copilot Pro users can create their own GPT; however, this capability will be added at a later date.

In the same fashion, Copilot Pro also has an advantage over ChatGPT Plus, especially for Microsoft 365 subscribers, where Copilot Pro will supercharge apps like Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and OneNote with generative AI capabilities, allowing users to quickly create a summary on Word, generate presentations on PowerPoint, and draft emails using AI on Outlook.

Both ChatGPT Plus and Copilot Pro allow users to generate images using DALL-E (up to 100 images a day). Both models offer priority access to GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo during peak times and once subscribed, these services can be accessed on PC, Mac, web, Android, and iOS devices.

Considering the feature set, it is almost evident that ChatGPT Plus could be a great option for regular users and developers, while Copilot Pro is meant for business users who might deal with Office suites on a daily basis.
