Currently, the Perplexity AI app is available for both Android and iOS devices in both free and premium versions. With Phone (2a), the company might offer a complimentary subscription to Perplexity. Perplexity, headquartered in California, was founded by Aravind Srinivas, Denis Yarats, Johnny Ho, and Andy Konwinski. And the co-founder Srinivas has also confirmed that the “partnership official now!”
For now, there is no information on how Nothing will integrate Perplexity AI into its app. However, with the launch of Galaxy AI, an increasing number of smartphone users are considering integrating AI services into smartphones more than ever before.
Perplexity AI is a conversational search engine powered by OpenAI’s GPT, offering features such as an AI chatbot and a personalized user experience. Unlike ChatGPT, it can also search the web and utilize AI capabilities to summarize web content to assist users. While there is a free version available, users can pay $20 a month to unlock features like unlimited copilot usage, including access to the latest GPT models. The company also offers a free seven-day trial to provide an experience of all the features available on Perplexity AI.
The Nothing Phone (2a) is said to sit between the Phone (1) and the Phone (2), both in terms of pricing and features. According to the officially unveiled schematics, the Phone (2a) will continue to offer Glyph lighting and the device is also said to offer better camera performance than the Phone (1). The Phone (2a) is likely to be powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 7200 SoC with at least 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, and the device will officially launch on March 5.
