Ola founder Bhavesh Agarwal to soon launch Krutrim AI chatbot app | Technology News
Krutrim Si Designs, a startup founded and backed by Ola CEO Bhavesh Agarwal yesterday announced that the company will launch its first AI-powered chatbot Krutrim sometime next week.
The startup recently raised $50 million, making it the first homegrown AI firm in India to attain unicorn status. In a post on X (previously Twitter), Bhavesh Agarwal shared a screenshot showing what the Krutrim AI looks like in Safari on iPhone. We can see that the app is currently in beta and can help users with things like ‘Buying new Laptop’, ‘Create love songs playlist’ and ‘Popular Snacks.’
Similar to other AI chatbots like Bard, Copilot and ChatGPT, there is a warning text on the bottom of the search bar that suggests users verify important information since “Krutrim can go wrong sometimes” with Agarwal saying that they “keep improving the models post launch too.”

The upcoming AI chatbot will be able to understand 22 Indian scheduled languages in addition to English and can generate content in 10 Indian languages like Marathi, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Odia, Gujarati, and Malayalam. The company also said that Krutrim will be voice-enabled, but it is still unclear if the feature will be available at launch.
In a series of posts, Agarwal also showed various responses from the chatbot, which were mostly correct.
However, when Krutrim was asked “Was India a country before the British Raj”, the chatbot answered “India was a country before the British Raj. It had its own political system, culture, language, religion and tradition”, hinting that the upcoming AI chatbot may face hallucination issues similar to ChatGPT, Bard and Copilot.
